Heslop’s Local Advertiser 17/08/1946

On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Fifth Engineer Officer George Piggales, serving with the Merchant Navy who died 27/07/1940.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 17/08/1946 and 16/08/1947 both carry an In Memoriam notice which reads:

“Piggales, 56 Smithburn Road, Felling, George, lost at sea July 27, 1940.”

He is remembered in Windy Nook on W95.01 and on our List of Ships’ Crews
