In Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1039743 Flight Sergeant James Banyer, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 05/05/1943.

F/Sgt Banyer was killed when Shot Stirling I EF345 LS-M of 15 Squadron was lost on a mission to Dortmund. The Stirling crashed near Anholt, with the loss of six of the eight crew members. The two survivors became P.o.W.s.
