W/O Allison was killed when Vickers Wellington 1c AD605 ZP-C of 109 Squadron was lost on a mission to Bremen. The Wellington was on a special duties flight, and carried special radio equipment to carry out a wireless test. It was shot down by a Luftwaffe night-fighter flown by Oblt. Egmont Prinz zur Lippe Weissenfeld of II./NJG2, and crashed at Dirkshorn in Noord Holland. Of the seven crew aboard, only two survived to become P.o.W.s.
