LAING, John Archibald
Born 1896/7, in Invernessshire.

In 1911, he lived at 27 Prison Quarters, Durham with father John, mother Jessie, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. His father was a Prison Warder.

On CWGC entry, his parents’ address is given as Cross House, Neville’s Cross.

He was a pupil at Durham Johnston School

In active service he was a Private in 72nd Coy Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) attached to Camerons (Regmtl no 15275).

He died 31/08/1916, aged 19.
