Thomas Burt Burrow was born December 19th 1897, West Auckland, County Durham and baptised January 20th 1898, Bishop Auckland. He was the son of Thomas Burrow 1864 - 1846 and Emily Patterson 1865 – 1942. Thomas Burt was their second son and one of six children, three boys and three girls.

By 1901 the family were living at Hummerbeck Lane in the Parish of St Helen’s, Auckland. His father was employed as cemetery caretaker, later in 1911 he had his own joinery business and the family had moved to 5 Norman Terrace in Chilton Buildings.

Thomas enlisted at Spennymoor in the 1st/7th Northumberland Fusiliers, a Territorial Force, part of the 50th Northumbrian Division.

Private 205165 Thomas Burt Burrow died October 26th 1917, at the age of 19, during the Third Battle of Ypres, Belgium. He has no known grave and his sacrifice is recorded at Tyne Cot Cemetery, Zonnebeke, Passchendaele, near Ypres, Belgium. Northumberland Fusiliers Panel 19-23 also 162.
