Albert Pomeroy

In Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 113938 Driver Albert Pomeroy serving with the "B" Battery 124th Brigade Royal Field Artillery who died 12/11/1918.

Nothing in my hand I bring simply to thy cross I cling

Son of John and Hannah Pomeroy, of 24, Wardle St., South Moor, Stanley S.O., Co. Durham.

The Stanley News and North West Durham Observer 13/11/1919 carries this photograph and states that Albert was well known in football circles.

Albert Pomeroy is remembered at South Moor on S129.01, S129.02 and S129.04
