Henry Gleghorn was born at Consett the son of Joseph Gleghorn.
In 1911 Henry is in the Gateshead Guardians' Cottage Homes at Shotley Bridge he is 14 and an apprentice gardener.
When war was declared Henry enlisted at Hexham and joined the Northumberland Fusiliers. He embarked for France on 20th April 1915.
Henry was killed in action 25th May 1915 and has no known grave.
He was awarded the 15 Star and the Victory and British medals. His sisters Annie E. and Mary E. received any monies owing to him.
