AC.2 Heron was killed when Avro Anson I N5024 of 148 Squadron was lost on a training flight. The Anson crashed after flying into a snow storm, crashing at Yolland Marsh, some 7 miles south west of Totnes, Devon, with the loss of all five crew members.
