The Duchess of Northumberland presented each man with a "beautifully lithographed and illuminated certificate of service, the principal views including photographs of Tynemouth Y.M.C.A. and the Y.M.C.A. huts that were at Etaples and Steenwerke."
The Duke of Northumberland gave an address at both meetings.

Y.M.C.A. Welcome Home
The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 10/09/1919 reports the Welcome Home of North Shields Men which was held under the auspices of the Tynemouth Branch of the Y.M.C.A. Two meetings were held simultaneously, one at Albion Assembly Rooms, Norfolk Street, and the other in the Drill Hall in Military Road.
