In the Aviation Museum in Bamburgh Castle is a propellor hub and crankshaft of an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk V T4151 KN-N from RAF Topcliffe which ditched 8 miles east of North Shields on 6th November 1940 when returning from a sortie over Milan.
All the crew were rescued.
