Family plaque: Kennycott

In St. Mary's Church is a family plaque to the Kennycotts which includes:

Also of Charles, their son
who was killed in action
on board H.M.S. Amelia February 7 1813
aet 20 years.

HMS Amelia was involved in the Anti-Slavery Trade off the coast of Africa. John Christian Schetky painted a picture entitled “HMS Amelia chasing the French ship Arethuse, 1813”.
