Family plaque: Baker-Cresswell 1854

In St. Mary's Church is a family plaque to the Baker-Cresswells which includes:

To the memory also of
William Gilfrid third son of A.J.B. Cresswell and Elizabeth Mary his wife,
Captain in the XI (P.A.O.) Hussars,
who was cut off by the cholera in the Crimea when on the march to Alma, September 19 1854, aged 29, and
was buried in a soldier's grave with the rites of
the Church of England
on the morning of 20th before the Battle of the Alma.
