In connection with the Wecome Home Fund, an interesting ceremony took place in the People's Park Ashington last Saturday afternoon when all the ex-servicemen and relatives of the fallen in the Ashington Urban District were presented with silver medals as a slight recognition from the inhabitants for what they had done in the great war. The committee who organised the fund had upwards of 4,000 medals to distribute. The medal was designed by Mr J.J. Scott jeweller to Ashington Industrial Cooperative Society.
