"This band banner was presented to the Borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed / by the 1st Bn. Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in December 1975.
This banner was in constant use with the 1st Bn. Royal Northumberland Fusiliers / since 1947, but the gosling green backing were not, though the regimental crests / in the middle survived and were fitted to new banners in 1960 when the Bn / served in Hong Kong. The banner has been superseded by those with / embellishments of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
Both Regiments have been awarded the Freedom of the Borough.
