Warkworth men throw war trophy into a quarry.
A band of men seized the German gun at Warkworth. It was taken through the front street, past the Castle, and thence to Amble. The night was very dark, and rain fell heavily, but a large crowd had gathered in the vicinity of the Old Quarry. Here the gun was dumped into the quarry, where there are already two Amble guns."
