H.M.S. Patia
Northumberland Gazette 12/10/2003 reports how a man failed in his efforts to have a memorial erected to his shipmates on the H.M.S. Patia which was sunk by enemy action off Boulmer. He envisaged stone-built memorial with slate roof to feature a central tower, seating and wall mounted plaques.

This idea had already been rejected at Boulmer, where a plaque has been created to remember the Patia, see B49.06

In both cases, the size of what was proposed was unacceptable.
