D.G.M.O. Staff at Central Station September 1914

Reproduced here is a photograph of a few of the Divisional Goods Manager's staff, Newcastle, who have joined the N.E.R. Battalion. The picture, we are told, was taken at the "fish dock." Central Station, and a theatre board, which happened to be there, was requisitioned for inclusion in the photograph because the name of the play advertised seemed to have a bearing on the situation.

The men depicted are Messrs, F. W. Sissons, P. Blades, W. Blakey, John Terry, W. F. Atkinson, H. Welsh and S.R. Milne. Besides these, the following have joined the battalion from the staff attached to the D.G.M.O.; Messrs, J.E. Kitching, H.S. Cole and T.F Cameron (as officers), and Messrs T. M. Maughan and J. Hitcham.

Others who are serving with the Colours in different regiments are Messrs, P. Gibbs, T. Lishman and A. Davidson. A grand total of 15 out of a staff of 77.
