Austin McCormick joined the Regiment in 1971. He impressed one as
being a man of integrity, with a capacity for hard work and a constant
source of good natured comment.
It was not long before his ability brought him promotion, and selection
to the commanding officer's driver.
Austin McCormick was tragically killed
when a Landrover in which he was a
passenger, overturned while on exercise
in Germany. His loss was a great blow
to the Squadron, where he was
universally liked and respected.
