Trade Union Memorial Hall suggested
The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 06/05/1919 reports:
Suggested Trade Union War Memorial at Shields
The trade unionists of South Shields are considering a proposal to erect a war memorial to trade unionists who have fallen in the war, to be owned and controlled by the workers of the borough. It has been suggested that the memorial should take the form of a Trade Union Hall.
