Stained glass window: Spence, 1925

Photo: C. Sanders

In St.Thomas Church is a stained glass window of three lights which shows an angel in armour carrying lance and shield. His bright blue wings extend over the two outer lights. Beneath him is the word “Fortitude” on a scroll. Below this is the badge of the Durham Light Infantry. The dedication is carried right along the bottom of the three lights.
