It contains the names of women who were killed in 1939-45.
Included are the names of six women from Northumberland and Durham.
The Dean said is his sermon: "Woman is now recognised in all Christian countries as much a child of God as man, and it is a change which no other religion has yet effected so far as my knowledge goes. Woman has now got the full rights of the citizen".
