Welcome Home Concert
The Auckland Chronicle 22/04/1920 reports:

"Welcome Home Concert.
A concert was given in the Parish Hall, Byers Green, on Saturday, to welcome home the returned soldiers and sailors. The following artistes contributed to the programme: Miss Graham (elocutionist); the Misses Sharkey (instrumentalists); Mr. Jos. Waters (tenor), Mr. J. Dickinson (bass). In the interval illuminated addresses were presented to Sergt. Myers and Pts. Horsfield and Watson, winners of the D.C.M. A sum of money was given to all who served in the war. The Rev. F.E. Loxley, M.A., who presided, gave an address. The Soldiers' and Sailors' Welcome Home Fund, of which Mr. Loxley has acted as President, and Mr. J. Stephenson as hon. secretary, has now been closed."
