"The authorities have offered a motor ambulance to the members of the Consett Brigade of the St. John Ambulance association and the Sisters of the local Nursing Division, in recognition of their splendid work as V.A.D.s during the war."
The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 11/06/1919 carries the same report.
The Northern Echo 21/07/1919 reports that the presentation was part of the peace celebrations. The ambulance would accommodate 4 stretcher cases or 12 sitting patients.
