In Consett UDC Offices was a Naval shield bearing a plaque which read:

Presented by
The Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty
to Consett
Urban District Council
to commemorate the adoption of
H.M.S. Hydrangea
during Warship week February 1942.

This is now in the care of the Consett and District Heritage Initiative.
