South Pontop Welcome Home Reunion Ball 1919
The Blaydon Courier 28/06/1919 reports the Welcome Home in the Co-operative Hall for a final distribution of souvenir gifts to South Pontop "men returned to civil industry after attachment to the Army".

The men were presented with a signet ring, watch or medal, according to their choice.

Although the purpose of the Welcome Home fund was now at an end, the fund raising would carry on until sufficient had been raised for a permanent memorial. Secretary of the fund was Mr. E. Robinson and the Treasurer Mr. J. Robinson.
