Of the pre-war vocal membership of the club, 20 had served with the colours and two had died, including a former conductor.
A small fund had been organised to enable a token of appreciation to be made. This was done by Mr. Tom Turner, the Gleemen's pianist and chairman of the Committee.
The society had been in existence for 14 years.
