Players Memorial Fund
A “Players Memorial Fund” to perpetuate the memory of all County and Club players who made the supreme sacrifice during the Second World War was instituted by Mr. Eric Watts Moses when Honorary secretary in the season 1945-46 in conjunction with Life Membership of the Union, the target being set at £1,000.
The object of the Fund being to help clubs by loans repayable (at a low rate of interest) over fixed terms of years in the purchase of grounds and equipment and the building of stands, clubhouses, etc.
The Fund was officially closed in season 1946-47 at £1,162 and with additions made in subsequent years the Fund stood at £2,112 on 30th April 1976.
